Alfredo Ruiz selects diamond motifs for this traditional rug. Working in naturally dyed wool woven on the handloom, he sets starbursts on warm fields of color, combining red, orange, burgundy, blue, pale green, brown and beige. Motifs along each side depict corn plants. It is a superb example of Zapotec art. Titled Estrellas de la pradera in Spanish. Because each rug is individually woven, measurements could vary +/- 2 inches (5 cm) (2 in).
