By Jeff DuFlon, this beautiful memory game for adults combines his love for woodworking and photography. Each game piece is shaped from parota wood and an original photograph is laminated to the wood. This game set depicts Guatemala's traditions during Lent, the 40 days leading up to Easter Sunday. Its emphasis is reflection and penitence, and its focus is Christ's passion and crucifixion. Elaborate carpets of colorful sawdust are often created on the streets where a holy procession is to pass by. The 50 game pieces and their handmade box are stored in a bag crafted of recycled fabric from backstrap looms – the handwoven skirts favored by the Maya women of the region. Motifs and colors of the bags may vary.
