Wearing a warm chullo hat with earflaps, this charming young man is actually an ekeko, a traditional Andean character said to bring happiness, love and prosperity. Originally an ancient Quechua fertility god and domestic deity, the ekeko was an effigy given to a woman in a legend of unrequited love. This bronze sculpture by Angel Franco proffers symbols of love, music and material prosperity. It stands on a bronze base with velvet backing to use as a paperweight.
