Do you like the idea of being a Viking, but hate the idea of fighting all the time? We know. Everyone seems to think that the Vikings are nothing but rough and tough savages who spend their time pillaging, but that's just simply not the case. The Vikings did have a softer side. Vikings wrote poetry, created beautiful tapestries and rune stones and they made sculptures. It's not like they were running around, grunting with axes in their hands 24-7! The softer side of of Vikings were in the details, and the stoic, yet gentle women of the Vikings.Don't get us wrong, Viking women could kick some serious butt. Shieldmaidens are proof of that, but we just wanted to explore the wear of an every day Viking girl, so we came up with this women's Peasant Viking costume. The outfit is based on what Norse women would have worn back in the Medieval times. The forest green dress has large bell sleeves for a historical look. It fits with a front, center zipper. Faux fur trim gives the dress a uniquely Medieval style and the orange twill tunic gives the costume a bright pop. A faux fur shawl adds an authentic look. Additional bead strands are included, which can be attached to the shawl. It's a great look for any kind of historical event, such as Renaissance festivals or Viking parties. Never heard of a Viking party? Okay, neither have we, but we imagine that a party with a Viking theme would be one pretty awesome party!
