The Lord of the Rings Fellowship of the Ring Figure Set 2 by Weta
Product Description:
Dimensions:5.1 x 7.5 x 5.1 (H x W x D)Weight: 0.9 lbsFellowship of the Ring - Set 2This is the second in a series of three Sets, which together make up the entire Fellowship of the Ring. This second set includes Boromir, Gimli, Merry and Pippin. This set has been created in response to ongoing collector requests for a diorama of the full Fellowship on their trek across Middle-earth. They have been sculpted at miniature scale (for those with limited shelf space) and are ideally suited to display alongside our iconic The Lord of the Rings environments like Rivendell and Bag End.The height from the bottom of the base to the top of Boromir's blonde locks is 5.1 inches. The base is 7.9 inches long and 5.1 inches wide. The hobbits are just 3 inches tall from head to toe and Gimli only slightly taller at 3.5 inches. The Fellowship of the Ring has been sculpted, molded, modeled and painted by a wide team of artists from Weta Workshop, who helped create the Trilogy. It is then reproduced in polystone resin, the material of choice for fine art details.Story behind the set:With the fate of Middle-earth at stake, a Fellowship of nine walkers stride forth from Rivendell. Nothing less daunting than Mordor itself and the fires of Mount Doom is their quest's ultimate destination, where the One Ring of Power must be thrown into the roiling depths and Sauron's enduring menace finally defeated.Among the nine are representatives from all the free peoples. Gimli, Son of Gloin speaks for the Dwarves. His broad bladed axe and Dwarven indomitability alongside the swordsmanship and valor of the mighty warrior Boromir present a doughty force with which to contend for any who would assail the Fellowship as they travel.Boromir is the son of the Steward of Gondor and heir to the seat of governance of the once great realm of men, now dwindling as decay and despair descends upon its people.Young Merry and Pippin have no special battle prowess, though hobbits possess surprisingly strong throwing arms, but their heart and loyalty to the ring bearer Frodo are matched only by their appetites.
