Jaguars have always had a special place in pre-Hispanic art and mysticism, and today they inspire Georgina Cabrera to craft an original mask. Admired for its strength, power and beauty, the jaguar was associated with warriors as well as with deities. Mexico's Cabrera handcrafts this fierce mask with three different types of clay, and once the mask is baked in the kiln she proceeds to paint with vivid details. The mask hangs from a waxed cord.
