Seen in silhouette, the mighty Maya ruler Shield Jaguar receives his war helmet from his wife, Xok. The plumed helmet is shaped like the fierce face of the jaguar. Angel Cerón recreates an archeological piece from Yaxchilán, a classic Maya site deep in the jungle. Known as Lintel 26, the original stucco dates from 724 A.D. and is now in Mexico City's National Museum of Anthropology and History. Includes a velvet cord for hanging.
