In the town of Santiago Atitlán in Guatemala, a community center dedicated to the care of the village's elderly relies on the work of a small group known as the Seed Bead Artisans of Santiago, who are craftswomen working with beads. These seven women support not only their own families, but also the elderly citizens whom they value and care for. The women's work is exquisite. Using colorful glass beads, they create this charming pair of frog ornaments that hang on polyester thread and are filled with recycled plastic bags to give them shape.
