Wool tapestry Red Lightning Peru
Product Description:
Streaking cross the earth in quick zigzags, lightning gives off electric red flames. Ivory starbursts illuminate this elegant design, woven on the Andean handloom. Efrain Curi uses the kilim, or slit technique. The different yarns are not dovetailed or interlocked, but each color field is woven independently of the other and their vertical edges are open. This technique is widely seen on medieval and Renaissance tapestries. Titled Pepa de durazno en cuadrados in Spanish.
