A ray of white light centers this radiant tapestry by Efrain Curi. Gradually shading toward azure and navy, it is meticulously created on the Andean handloom. Curi uses the kilim, or slit technique. The different yarns are not dovetailed or interlocked, but each color field is woven independently of the other and their vertical edges are open. This technique is widely seen on medieval and Renaissance tapestries. Titled Rompecabeza azul in Spanish.
