Ornate curves bend and twist to form works of classic elegance. Elaborated in sterling silver, these earrings offer a stylish complement for any occasion. Ploy Intha has an unbreakable spirit, battling countless difficulties to fulfill her dream as a silversmith. Intha describes the intricate process, unique to each piece: An alloy, made of silver, copper and charcoal is molten in the forge and poured into a terracotta container. Then the alloy is beaten on an anvil with various sizes of hammers into sheets, which are later cut into the desired shapes. Then the design is patiently carved with tiny tools and, once completed, the sheets are joined, soldered and finely polished. The silver is also beaten and stretched into long strings that are cut, shaped like hook and attached to the design. The pieces are then washed into a tamarind solution and into water, then dried, filed and polished.
