A beautiful Sankofa bird is depicted on the forehead of this African mask. Representing the Adinkra symbol that means go back and get it, the bird is realized with colorful recycled glass beads. Ghanaian artisan Nasiru Nurudeen designs this amazing mask, hand-carving it of sese wood and adding embossed aluminum to the cheeks that reflects scarification practices.
