This handsome sese wood mask is carved with exquisite detail by Salihu Ibrahim. It is a replica of the 'Colon' (short for colonial) mask worn by the Guro people of Cote d'Ivoire, explains the Ghanaian master carver. They wear the mask during harvest celebrations, and it honors that part of their history when they were under Colonial rule. Ibrahim uses brown and white clays for color.
