Deep red defines a graceful shape beneath delicate lotus buds. Parinya Nanjai depicts the Buddhapada, or footprint of Buddha. When Buddha stepped back onto earth after reaching enlightenment, his feet made an imprint where he stepped, the first and most honored of these imprints being the one atop Adam's Peak in Ceylon. These footprints are venerated in all Buddhist countries. The painting arrives in a frame of teakwood and bamboo.
