Andre de Miranda portrays a scene from Aeneid, an epic poem in Latin detailing the foundation of Rome, in this entrancing print. Miranda portrays a young Romulus, future founder of Rome, and his brother Remus being raised by a she-wolf in the forest. According to legend, she rescued them from the Tiber River and raised them until they were found by a herdsman. Miranda uses the woodcut technique and presents this xilogravure in a pH neutral passe-partout. Titled Romulo e Remo in Portuguese.
