The Mexican artist creates a compelling image that combines acrylics, metallic paints and paper cutouts applied to a digitally printed photograph on watercolor paper. This work represents the faith and devotion that permits tradition to triumph, he says. The fervor is directed toward the rain gods to ask for better harvests. It is a passion for an ancestral tradition so it will be able to persist over time. Titled Devoción in Spanish, the collage is framed in pinewood with a mat board passe-partout. It forms part of the artist's Danza Mayor series.
