| Brilliant colors surround an elderly woman who wears a rebozo folded on her head. She gazes candidly at the viewer with limpid brown eyes. I photographed this woman in the central plaza of Antigua, Guatemala, artist Carolina Cabrera confides. We were talking and I explained I'm a painter and would like to paint her portrait. She graciously gave me permission to take her picture. Three other women with her were very happy when I explained what I was going to do with the photo. Titled Huellas a través del tiempo in Spanish. |
