Deep blue plays host to vibrant colors in the design of this coverlet from Guatemala. By Yolanda and Antonia Panjoj, the coverlet is woven on the traditional backstrap loom of the Maya. It is said that when a Maya woman is weaving she is in quiet communion with her spirit as she recalls dreams and wishes. The coverlet is woven as two separate parts that are then sewn together.
