Angel Cerón is inspired by the legend of Aztlán for the design of this extraordinary sculpture. Meaning the place of herons, Aztlán was a prophesized islet where the Mexicas were told to build their city, the Great Tenochtitlan – at modern day Mexico City. The brave warrior wears a bird headdress with a fish in its beak. In his hands he holds a human head and an eagle. Incredibly detailed, the sculpture is crafted of ceramic.
