Designer Nana Adu Amankwapam I emblazons three Adinkra symbols on the sturdy stand of this djembe drum, to render it mystically fascinating. Hye-wonhye symbolizes imperishability and endurance, while sankofa signifies positive reversion and revival. The third is kintinkantan, which warns of the perils of arrogance and extravagance. The tweneboa wood djembe is carved by hand and includes a goatskin drumhead, held in place with iron rings and cotton pads.
