Thanyarat Sananpanich conjures an intricate brocade with rows of regal blue stars. Combining the khit and jok (supplementary weft) techniques, her design comes to life as an exquisite silk table runner. Phrae wa weaving is a tradition in Kalasin Province, where the combination of patterns results in heirloom textiles. It takes its name from a type of traditional bodice worn by the Phu Thai women. It is said a Phu Thai woman will weave only one such bodice in her entire lifetime.
