For this design I sought the contrast between the rustic essence of jute with the delicate artistry of cotton lace and the subtle jaspe patterns, confides Lorena Figueroa. The gray and white striped napkins add to the beautiful game of contrasts. The placemats have a blue underside obtained from traditional morgas (skirts) and are decorated with colorful pompoms on the corners. The jute is recycled from the sacks used to collect coffee beans during harvest season.
