Working on a backstrap loom, members of the Kaqchikel Women's Group perpetuate a weaving legacy handed down over generations. The skilled artisans transform cotton into a set of four placemats in festive black and white, red and brown along with several shades of green. We named this design Nimaq'ij, which means 'fiesta' in the Kaqchikel language. Anytime we share food and drink with family and friends, it's a fiesta, they explain. Four solid white napkins complete the set.
