Working on a backstrap loom, members of the Kaqchikel Women's Group perpetuate a weaving legacy handed down over generations. The skilled artisans transform cotton into a set of four placemats in white, green, light brown, yellow and red. We named this design Xaxoq'a, which means 'rainbow' in the Kaqchikel language. It inspires us as it illuminates the countryside and brings happiness to our days there, they explain. Four solid green napkins complete the set.
