These spatulas are carved by hand from chico zapote wood, which is a hardwood. We designed them for serving your favorite cakes and pies, explain the carvers from Peten Wood Artisan Sculptors. Chico zapote wood is a naturally red with a very fine grain. Please note that hot and/or spicy food may dye the natural wood, yet spoons can be filed and finished with oil to return to natural coloring.
