Gaspar may not have actually been from India. He may or may not have been a king. And there may have been more than three gift-bearing visitors to the infant Jesus. The Biblical account simply calls them wise men from the east. It doesn't specify a number or any names, though it does list 3 gifts--which is probably why tradition settled on 3 gift-givers. This Adult Three Wise Men Gaspar of India Costume derives from an Armenian tradition that dates to the 14th century. Wear it with pride in your Christmas program.
